Sheriff’s Office holds annual Cooling Project
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office is set to begin its second annual Cooling Project to assist senior citizens and families in need during the summer heat.
“We are looking to make sure the less fortunate in Darlington County are able to stay cool this summer,” said Sheriff Tony Chavis. “This is why we are continuing the Cooling Project and asking the public to help us help others.”
Donations of new fans and air conditioners along with cases of bottled water will be collected from June 1 until June 22 during normal business hours at the Sheriff’s Office located at 1621 Harry Byrd Hwy. Individuals who donate will be entered in for a chance to win a flat screen TV.
