Second suspect denied bond in car wash death

A judge denied bond Thursday for a 22-year-old man facing multiple charges in connection with the weekend killing of an elderly victim at a local car wash.
Adron Lashawn Agbo, charged with murder, armed robbery, possession of a weapon, and criminal conspiracy, appeared before Municipal Court Judge Robert Stucks one day after his arrest in the death of 73-year-old Eugene Williams.
Williams was killed Saturday at a Pearl Street car wash in Darlington. Agbo, who is the second of two suspects apprehended, was taken into custody Wednesday. The other suspect, a 15 year old, was apprehended on Tuesday and was later transferred to the Dept. of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
During today’s hearing, Fourth Circuit Solicitor Mike Burch requested no bond, pointing to the severity of the alleged crime, Agbo’s previous criminal record, and concerns that he might flee if released. After hearing arguments, Judge Stucks denied bond on the armed robbery, weapon possession, and conspiracy charges. The murder charge will be addressed in circuit court, as municipal courts do not have jurisdiction over murder cases.
Agbo remains in custody.
