Ribbon-cutting held for stage at Terrence F. Caraway Memorial Park

The City of Darlington and the Darlington County Recreation Department held a ribbon-cutting Sunday for the new public stage at Terrence F. Carraway Memorial Park on Southern Pine Street. Current city officials, including Mayor Curtis Boyd, City Council members Sheila Baccus and Elaine Reed, and former mayor Gloria Hines, took part.

Some of the crowd that assembled for the ribbon-cutting Sunday and the first Praise in the Park event utilizing the stage. Officials plan to use the stage area to show movies during the summer; schedules will be announced. PHOTOS BY BOBBY BRYANT
