Pursuit through Downtown Darlington results in drug arrests
Darlington merchants and residents on the Public Square were surprised on Monday, March 7 as deputies from the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office pursued a vehicle that ended up colliding with a tractor-trailer truck.
According to Darlington County Sheriff Wayne Byrd, the two suspects were not injured and were taken into custody. As a result of the traffic stop, five grams of crack cocaine, one gram of marijuana, and over $1500 in US currency were seized from inside the vehicle.
Michael J. Yarborough, age 30 male of Scranton, was charged with: Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine; Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine Within Proximity of a School; Broken Seal Inside a Motor Vehicle; and Allowing an Unauthorized Driver to Drive a Motor Vehicle.
Matthew J. Ross, age 29 male of Pamplico, was charged with: Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine 2nd Offense; Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine Within Proximity of a School; Simple Possession of Marijuana; Failure to Stop for a Blue Light; Broken Seal Inside a Motor Vehicle; Allowing an Unauthorized Driver to Drive a Motor Vehicle; and Littering.
