Pride of Darlington: Sam and Nora Grant

Members of the City of Darlington Beautification Board joined city officials May 24 as the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association (DDRA) presented the Pride of Darlington residential award to Sam and Nora Grant for their exemplary work maintaining their Circle Drive home.

Pictured here at the ceremony are (front row, left to right) homeowners Nora Grant and Sam Grant, Darlington Mayor Gloria Hines, Laura Burns, Darlington Planning Director and DDRA executive director Lisa Chalian-Rock, (back row, left to right) Jimmy White, Ronda Brown, and Darlington City Manager Howard Garland.

“I just want to congratulate you on a job well done. The yard is beautiful and the landscaping is beautiful,” said Mayor Hines.

DDRA presents the Pride of Darlington awards three times a year to residences and businesses that set a strong example for their fellow citizens by beautifying and maintaining their homes or workplaces. Special consideration is given for nominees who do most of the hard work themselves – like the Grants, who handle most of the landscaping and property maintenance.
