New Pastor for Lee Street FCOG

Rev. Dr. Tomeka Barr-Jackson and Brother Chris Jackson.
The First Church of God on Lee Street welcomed a new chapter in its congregational history on Sunday, August 16, 2026, with the formal installation of Rev. Dr. Tomeka Barr-Jackson as its new pastor.
The installation service drew a large and diverse crowd, with clergy traveling in from across South Carolina and as far as Maryland, alongside family members, friends, and community well-wishers, all gathering to celebrate the milestone and extend a warm welcome to Dr. Barr-Jackson and her family.
Dr. Barr-Jackson comes to Lee Street First Church of God from Brockington Street Church of God in Timmonsville, where she built a legacy of dedicated service. During her tenure there, she served as associate minister, president of the Christian Women Connection, and choir directress, among numerous other roles. Her leadership extends beyond the local church as well — she currently holds several state-level offices within the South Carolina State Presbytery of the Church of God.
Joining her in this new season of ministry is her husband, Brother Chris Jackson, along with their family, who stood beside her as she was officially installed to lead the congregation.
“We are excited to move forward in this new chapter with our new leader,” said members of the church family, reflecting the sense of hope and unity that marked the day’s celebration.
With her proven record of leadership, service, and ministry, Dr. Barr-Jackson now begins a new journey guiding the First Church of God congregation forward, backed by a community eager to grow alongside her.
