‘Meet and greet’ planned for Darlington city office candidates
The Democratic Women’s Council of Darlington County invites Darlington residents to a “meet and greet” Oct. 3 with candidates for city offices.
The event is planned from 6-8 p.m. at Bethel AME Church Annex, 1321 S. Main St.
Up for election in November are three at-large seats and the mayor’s post. Three candidates are competing for mayor: Incumbent Mayor Gloria Hines, City Council member Carolyn Bruce and businessman Curtis Boyd.
County elections chief Hoyt Campbell is to be on hand with an example of new voting machines.
