Margie Edwards Young Graham

Margie Edwards Young Graham passed away peacefully at the McLeod Hospice House on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. A graveside service was held 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, at Magnolia Cemetery in Hartsville, directed by Belk Funeral Home. Born Thursday, Dec. 8, 1938, Margie was the third child of John C Edwards Sr. and Margaret Howell Edwards. She grew up in Hartsville and attended Hartsville High School. Margie worked at Nytronics in Darlington for more than 20 years, and retired from Wellman. Margie had a personality that was larger than life — she lit up a room when she walked in. She had the heart of a caregiver, having cared for her parents, in-laws and other relatives in their final days. She enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was planting flowers, tending to her yard, or just spending time in the sunshine. Her greatest role, however, was Nanny. Her best days were spent with her granddaughter Laci, and her great grandsons Cole and Caleb. Margie was predeceased by her parents; her brother John C Edwards Jr., husband Robert (Bob) Graham, and former husband Leon Young. She is survived by daughter Ginny Young Stewart and her husband Rick, granddaughter Laci Carter Hanna and her husband Wayne, and great-grandsons William Cole and Thomas Caleb Hanna. She is also survived by sisters Joann Morel and Peggy Harris. We would like to thank the special staff of McLeod Hospice for the loving care provided to our Mama and Nanny. A very special thank you to Tye — your care and compassion was a gift to us, and we are forever grateful. The family asks that memorials be made to McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551 Florence, SC 29501 in Margie’s memory. A guestbook is available online at www.belkfuneralhome.com.
