Latta defeats Lamar 56-24
The Latta Lady Vikings defeated the visiting Lamar Lady Silver Foxes 56-24 in varsity basketball action played in Latta on Friday, February 3.
Latta’s Kaliya Herman led all scorers with 16 points. MaKayla Legette added 13 points to the scoreboard while Shawniza Bethea connected for 9 points. Anziya Jones and Kardae McFadden had 7 points each. Layla Hyatt and Jocelynn Myers each added 2 points.
Lamar was led by LaKayla Peoples with 11 points. Myasia Stephens had 6 points, and Harmony Daniels added 5 points. Jaylen Samuel had 2 points.
Latta is 11-8 overall and in second place with 5-2 in Region 6 A.
Latta contributed regular season play on Senor night Monday, February 6, at home against Green Sea Floyds.
Lamar is in third place in Region 6 A with a 2-4 record.
Lamar will travel to Green Sea Floyds on Wednesday, February 7, for a 6:30 p.m. game.
