Lady Wild Gators defeat Lady Silver Foxes

The Lake View Lady Wild Gators defeated Lamar Lady Silver Foxes 59-25 in varsity basketball action played in Lake View on Thursday, January 19.
Lake View jumped out to an early 16-6 after the first quarter of play. By halftime, the Lady Wild Gators were up 30-12.
Lake View committed 3 fouls in the first half, and Lamar committed 5 fouls in the first half.
The Lady Wild Gators continued scoring in the third period of play while Lady Silver Foxes to 5 points.
In the second half of play, Lake View committed 6 fouls, and Lamar committed only 2 fouls.
Lake View’s Jaleya Ford led all scorers with 16 points as she sank seven 2-point baskets and 2 free throws. Sa’Nyah Williams placed 15 points onto the scoreboard with three 3-point baskets and three 2-point baskets. La’Kayla Chavis added 10 points with five 2-point baskets while Gwendasia Page sank three 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and a free throw to also have 10 points. Tianaa Hamilton had three 2-point baskets for 6 points. Alexis Blackmon sank a 2-point basket.
Lamar’s Zyra Spann led the Lady Silver Foxes with four 2-point baskets and 2 free throws to place 10 points onto the scoreboard. LaKayla Peoples had two 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and a free throw for 8 points. Myasia Stephens had two 2-point baskets for 4 points. Jaylen Samuel connected for a 3-point basket.
Lake View is 14-2 overall and 3-0 in Region 6 A. Larry Inman is the head coach for the Lady Wild Gators. Lamar is 1-14 overall and 0-3 in Region 6 A.
