Hartsville woman dies after hit and run

Stacy McLeod, 32, of Hartsville died from injuries she received when she was struck by a car on the Patrick Highway just outside of Hartsville. The incident occurred on Thursday night, August 6, around 10:00 p.m.

Mrs. McLeod was transported to Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, and then transported to McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, where she later died according to Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee.

Darlington County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) was called to the scene and dispatched South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) to assist. The SCHP is looking for a Mazada with front end damage. If anyone has any information concerning this fatal hit and run incident, contact the South Carolina Highway Patrol at 1-800-768-1501, Crime Stoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC, or DCSO at 843-398-4501.

This incident remains under investigation by the Darlington County Coroner’s Office, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
