Four downtown businesses received a financial boost Friday, March 13, as the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association (DDRA) presented $1,000 improvement grants to support continued growth and enhancement in the city’s historic business district.
The grant recipients were PaPa B’s and MaMa T’s on North Main Street, East & Calla on Pearl Street, High Cotton on Cashua Street, and Joe’s Grill on Russell Street.
DDRA Director Will Brunson, along with other members of the organization, visited each location to personally present the checks to the business owners. The grants are part of the association’s ongoing efforts to support local entrepreneurs and encourage continued investment in Downtown Darlington.
Each year, the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association distributes special improvement grants of up to $1,000 to eligible downtown businesses. The funds are designed to help owners make upgrades, improvements, or enhancements that contribute to the overall appearance and vitality of the downtown district.
Programs like these are intended to strengthen the local economy while preserving the charm and character that make Downtown Darlington a welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike.
The DDRA continues to work with local business owners, community leaders, and residents to promote economic development, historic preservation, and community engagement within the city’s downtown area.
The Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association office is located at 400 Pearl Street in Darlington.
