DCSO discovers eight methamphetamine labs on Jeffords Mill Road

Darlington County Sheriff’s Office went to Jeffords Mill Road, Darlington on February 28, 2016, for a follow-up investigation. According to reports from the DCSO, while deputies were talking with the homeowner of the residence, they noticed several items used in the making of methamphetamine labs. Consent to search of the residence was signed by the homeowner.

Darlington County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit was called to the scene, and approximately eight methamphetamine labs were located in or around the residence.
A hazardous material clean-up crew and the Darlington County Fire Department responded to the scene.

Two minor children were inside the residence at the time; DSS was also called to the location.

Through the course of the investigation, information was also obtained about a sexual assault that occurred between a female visiting at the residence and a minor victim.
Jessica Louise Melton, age 33, of Darlington, was charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine First Offense; Possession of Methamphetamine; Disposal of Methamphetamine Waste; and Exposing Minor Child to Methamphetamine.

Willie Edward Howell, of Darlington, was charged Manufacturing Methamphetamine First Offense; Possession of Methamphetamine; Disposal of Methamphetamine Waste; and Exposing Minor Child to Methamphetamine.

Randi Lynn Brown, age 21, of Marion, was charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor 2nd Degree.
