Darlington County couple named finalists in Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Achievement Award
Ty and Tracy Woodard of Darlington County were named one of three state finalists in the 2017 South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers Achievement Award during the organization’s 73rd Annual Meeting held recently in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The contest winner will be announced in February at the 2017 SCFB Young Farmer & Rancher Conference in Charleston, SC.
As finalists, the couple received a check for $1,000 compliments of the Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company. They will also be competing for the opportunity to win a new GM truck and an expense-paid trip to the 2018 American Farm Bureau Annual Convention in Nashville, TN. The other finalists for the award are Davis and Cegi Peeler of Anderson County and Whitney and Lynne Farr of Spartanburg County.
The SCFB YF&R Achievement Award recognizes individuals for outstanding work and achievements in agriculture, Farm Bureau, and in their communities. Award prizes are complements of Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company, Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company, South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation and GM.
Also recognized were Jimmie Lee and Katie Shaw of Newberry County, the 2016 winners of the Achievement Award.
