Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee has worked hard to renovate the property on 48 Public Square for the first Christmas Electric Extravaganza, open now through Dec. 30. Within the old hardware store are two separate rooms, each decorated with a miniature train and village display. The train display features state of the art miniature Lionel O-Gauge trains from Steve Smith, who was there Sunday night operating the model trains. In the other room were multiple village/city displays featuring anything from New York to Darlington. All from the creative imagination of Darlington’s George Stoddard. Both the train and the village display have been laid out with such elaborate detail, you will find yourself lost within the settings. There was also a surprise visit from Santa, who took pictures with kids throughout the night! Santa will return Sunday, Dec. 5, for anyone else who wishes to see him. This location is free to the public and is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Come out and enjoy the magic!
