Darlington man accused of manslaughter in Florence
A Darlington man has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of a man who was shot in December while riding in a car in Florence County, officials say.

Fatal Shootingat shopping plaza off Governor Williams Highway
Witnesses said one man was fatally shot late Friday afternoon after a fight broke out outside a small shopping plaza off Governor Williams Highway where Little Caesar’s Pizza and other small businesses are located. The victims identity has not been released. Many law-enforcement officers were on the scene about 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Water losses continuing to plague town of Lamar
Lamar Town Council convened their regular monthly meeting on Jan. 11, with most Council members and guests joining virtually via Zoom teleconference due to spiking COVID-19 case numbers in Darlington County.
