Rosenwald Alumni awards college scholarships

For 20 years, the Rosenwald Alumni Foundation has awarded scholarships to Darlington County students pursuing post-secondary college degrees.
This year’s recipients are:
TRINITY ELAINE HARRELL, who graduated from Darlington High School and has been accepted into Lander University in Greenwood. She is the daughter of Rosenwald Elementary alumna LaTosha Douglas Harrell, the granddaughter of Rosenwald High alumna Kathryn Elaine Cox Douglas (Class of 1972) and the great-granddaughter of Rosenwald High alumna Pandora Sims Cox (Class of 1949).
INDIYA JOHNSON, who graduated from Darlington High School and has been accepted into Coastal Carolina University in Conway. She is a Rosenwald Elementary alumna, the daughter of Rosenwald Elementary alumnus Shawn Grant, and the granddaughter of Rosenwald High alumni Roy Grant and Mary Sanders Grant (Class of 1966).
BREANNA MILLS, who graduated from Darlington High School and has been accepted into Francis Marion University in Florence. She is a Rosenwald Elementary alumna and the granddaughter of Rosenwald High alumnus Thomas Mills.
PERSHA WILLIAMS, who graduated from Darlington High School and has been accepted into the University of South Carolina – Beaufort. She is a Rosenwald Elementary alumna, the daughter of Rosenwald Elementary alumnus Antoine Williams and the granddaughter of Rosenwald alumni Johnny Ludd (Class of 1981) and Roberta Williamson Ludd (Class of 1972).
A recipient must be a direct descendant of a former Rosenwald student or attended Rosenwald Elementary School; reside in Darlington County; graduate from a school in Darlington County; and enroll into the first semester freshman year of a two- or four-year accredited institution of higher education.
