Warming shelter opens in Darlington
Trinity UMC will open their youth center starting Jan. 3 from 6 p.m. – 8 a.m. People can come in for 15 minutes or the night. The warming shelter will open each night this week the temperature drops below freezing. Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 115 Orange St. in Darlington.
Local dancers share “Nutcracker” stage with Columbia City Ballet
For many ballet fans, or fans of Christmas in general, the holiday season isn’t complete without seeing a performance of The Nutcracker. On December 15, the Columbia City Ballet staged the classic ballet at the Hartsville Center Theater, and dozens of local kids got the chance to join in this special 50th Anniversary production.

Woman arrested for leaving kids in car
On December 21, 2017 Samandria Harkless was arrested for unlawful neglect at the Walmart in the city of Darlington. The subject left her six-year-old and her two month old children in a vehicle alone while the vehicle was running. The subject was inside of the store for approximately 15 minutes before law-enforcement was notified.
