Warming shelter opens in Darlington

Trinity UMC will open their youth center starting Jan. 3 from 6 p.m. – 8 a.m. People can come in for 15 minutes or the night. The warming shelter will open each night this week the temperature drops below freezing. Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 115 Orange St. in Darlington.

Woman arrested for leaving kids in car

On December 21, 2017 Samandria Harkless was arrested for unlawful neglect at the Walmart in the city of Darlington. The subject left her six-year-old and her two month old children in a vehicle alone while the vehicle was running. The subject was inside of the store for approximately 15 minutes before law-enforcement was notified.
