Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct arrest
On February 11, 2018 Raymond Charles Lowery-Kris age 20 was arrested by the Darlington Police Department for Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. The subject allegedly committed a sexual battery on a 12-year-old female. The incident is still under investigation.

Darlington County School District announces finalists for superintendency
The Darlington County Board of Education has named four finalists for district superintendent. Working with search consultant and former superintendent Dr. Rainey Knight, the board evaluated 25 applicants and interviewed nine before narrowing the search to the finalists. Society Hill experiencing ‘cash-flow situation’
According to Mayor Tommy Bradshaw, Society Hill is in financial trouble. Bradshaw shared the news Tuesday night at the monthly town council meeting after councilwoman Deborah Harrell asked him to explain the meeting minutes from a called meeting January 25. Harrell was absent from the meeting due to an illness.

On any given Friday or Saturday night, the stage at Hartsville’s Center Theater features dancers performing and musicians filling the auditorium with their own brand of musical entertainment.
