Arrests made in murder of Dominique Cooper

Two additional arrests have been made in the shooting death of that took place on Santee River Drive Florence, Darlington County case.

Tony Dequan Manago, age 20, of Franklin Street, Florence, was arrested on July 16, 2015; he has been charged with Murder.

Marquis Zandui Hawkins, age 21 of Watford Street, Darlington, was arrested on July 16, 2015; he has been charged with Murder.

Both Manago and Hawkins received a first appearance bond hearing on July 17, 2015 in front of a Magistrate Judge. Bond was denied and both remain in custody at the Darlington County Detention Center.

Dominique Ray Von Cooper, 24, was killed in the shooting near the I-95 bridge and E. McIver Road in Darlington County at 1:30 a.m. Monday, July 13. His death was confirmed by County Coroner Todd Hardee.

Cooper was a star running back at Darlington High School and graduated in 2011. He’s listed on the South Carolina State University’s website as
a signee for the Class of 2011.

Previous arrests include: Laquawn Tiyon Hicks, 22, of the Florence area who turned himself in to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday July 15. He has been charged with murder. His bond was denied and he is currently being held at the Darlington County Detention Center.

Halique Davenport, 22, and Kahseem Saybon Davenport, 31, both of Darlington, were also charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and criminal conspiracy in connection with the deadly shooting. Their bond was denied and they are also being held at the Darlington County Detention Center.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
