Armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver in Lamar
On Tuesday, December 30th, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 4000 block of Lake Swamp Road in the Lamar area of Darlington County in reference to an armed robbery. The victim, a pizza delivery driver, was robbed of money after delivering pizza at this location. The victim was struck in the head by the suspect with a gun.
The suspect, a juvenile, was later apprehended and transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. The juvenile is being charged as an adult with armed robbery and assault 1st degree. A bond hearing has been scheduled for Friday, January 2.
Because of his age, the suspect’s name was not released.
