9/11 First Responders Run
Fifteen runners and three bicyclists took to the early morning streets of Darlington on September 11, trekking 9.11 miles as a symbolic act of remembrance, honoring those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.
“This is a yearly event so their loss is never forgotten,” said Darlington Police Chief Danny Watson. “It reveals the fact that although the attack happened in New York City and Washington D.C., it affected small towns across America as well.”
The runners and cyclists carried American flags on their journey, and were escorted by police truck and a fire truck.
