In a beautiful testament to faith, community, and the wisdom of years, Lawson Grove Baptist Church hosted a special celebration for its senior citizens on Saturday, December 14th. The event, held at the church, located at 3585 Lawson Grove Road, brought together members of the congregation to honor and uplift its cherished elders.
The church’s Senior Citizen Ministry, which includes 83 registered members ranging in age from 62 to 102, led the celebration. Their mission statement embodies the spirit of the event: “We give God all the praise and glory for who we are and to Him we belong. We pray that as we walk this life journey that we touch someone or make a difference in their lives with the impact of love, mercy and grace, which God has given us.”
The program was a soulful offering of praise and gratitude. Songs of worship filled the sanctuary, and the Word of God was shared, reminding attendees of His blessings and the joy of a life rooted in faith. Attendees enjoyed fellowship through uplifting testimonies and heartfelt reflections that underscored the impact the Senior Citizen Ministry has had on their lives and the community.
Adding a touch of fun to the day, door prizes were awarded to participants, bringing smiles and laughter to the gathering. The program concluded with a delicious lunch, providing an opportunity for everyone to share a meal and deepen the bonds of fellowship.
The event not only celebrated the seniors’ contributions to the church and community but also served as a reminder of the power of love, mercy, and grace. “Our senior citizens are the pillars of our church,” a member shared. “Their faith and wisdom inspire us every day. Today was about showing them just how much they mean to us.”
Lawson Grove Baptist Church continues to honor its mission of love and service, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose for all its members. As the seniors gathered for this special occasion, it was clear that the event was not just a celebration but a heartfelt tribute to lives lived with faith, resilience, and grace.
