The notable author of Darlington, Beverly Spears, has recently shared the best secret with the staff of the News and Press: after returning from her home in Ireland, she is ready to embark on her next novel.
Spears spoke recently at the Hartsville Memorial Library to a crowd of readers of Unsolved, and community members that recall their own experiences during the time of the murder of Red Watts.
Jimmie Epling, County Librarian, has announced that Ms. Spears will speak at the Darlington Library branch later this fall.
Spears has agreed to speak/read to the Hartsville Rotary Club on August 18, by special request of club president Phillip Gandy – a former student of Spears when she taught at Francis Marion.
“I have already planned the next book, which will be a sequel with a twist. Twists, actually.” said Spears.
She will begin writing in September.
Copies of Unsolved are available at the News and Press office for $20; or online at Amazon.com. Also available on Amazon are her first two books, “Mineral Springs” and “County”.
