2nd Annual Freedom Fest July 4th
Darlington Raceway will be the site for the second annual Freedom Fest, scheduled for this Saturday, July 4. The event, hosted by the Greater Darlington Chamber of Commerce, is free to the public.
Gates open at 4 p.m. and will conclude that evening with a fireworks display. Kids activities and a concert by Sister Hazel will take place that evening. Pace laps will be offered for a $5 donation with proceeds benefiting the track’s charitable arm – Darlington Shares.
In anticipation of elevated temperatures, the Chamber is prepared to keep attendees of Freedom Fest cool with misting fans and tents for shade will be provided. Water will be provided free of charge.
Attendees will have no parking issues this year, thanks to special planning by the staff of the Darlington Raceway, according to Greater Darlington Chamber of Commerce Director Hannah Stanley.
“Chip Wile and his team at the Darlington Raceway are doing an excellent job figuring out the parking situation,” said Stanley. “We are happy to provide a fun way for families in the area to enjoy great music and fireworks free of charge.”
