Darlington County sheriff’s deputies located an improvised explosive device Jan. 25 while executing a search warrant in the Hartsville area, and a man has been charged. David Matthew Sheffield, 36, of Hartsville, was arrested and taken to the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center. The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office has charged a woman with possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop.
