In recent years Lynn Covington joined the Sweet Potato Festival Pageant as judges’ host and now is the secretary and one of the judges’ host for the newly formed Miss Darlington and Miss Darlington Teen Scholarship pageants.

The Ministerial Association of the Town of Lamar hosted their annual march in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on the morning of January 16.
