Mayor, Society Hill

Society Hill, located in the northeast corner of Darlington County, is nestled between Chesterfield and Marlboro counties.
It was founded on the Great Pee Dee River, where fishing, camping, picnicking and boating are still enjoyed by and available to the public.
The Catfish Festival is still celebrated, this year on the 19th of November, at St. David’s Academy, as well as Rosenwald Alumni events. The Taste of Society Hill is celebrated in April, which this year falls on April 23, and will be held at the historic Adam Marshall House at 454 S. Main St.
The 1822 Library is celebrating its 200th anniversary with tours and celebrations planned here and around the county.
The beloved Train Depot Museum will very soon be back, open for tours and small gatherings.
Society Hill is collectively working toward once again drawing visitors and reviving tourism here. With so much history to offer and the support of the community, good things are coming!
Please keep your eyes and ears open for all that Society Hill will be offering!
