Charles “Chuck” Edward Kelly III, age 46, died Sunday, January 17, 2016 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21st at Cornerstone Baptist Church followed by burial in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born in Darlington on June 15, 1969, he is the son of Judith Lewis Kelly and the late Charles Edward Kelly, Jr. Chuck graduated from Florence Christian School in 1987 and then from Francis Marion College. He worked as an Administrator for McLeod Family Medicine, and then worked in various administrative positions for McLeod Health for twenty years. He loved to travel, especially to the beach and to Disney World. Chuck had and an extensive Hard Rock Café pin collection, and was always adding pieces. Chuck liked to entertain family and friends, and had a passion for cooking for them.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Dawn McMillen-Kelly, and their son, Spencer William Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his father and maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family received friends Wednesday evening at Belk Funeral and other times at the home, 2712 Cunningham Court.

Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Onetia Clark Conyers were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2016 at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. Marion H. Newton, pastor. Interment was held at Hillside Memorial Park directed by Jordan Funeral Home, Inc. 0f Darlington, S.C.
Mrs. Conyers, the daughter of Pearl B. Clark and the late Clifton Clark, SSG, US Air Force, retired, was born at Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, S.C. and died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Palmetto Health Toumey in Sumter, S.C.
She was a licensed cosmetologist, a member of The Sumter Beauticians Club, the S.C. Cosmetologist Association, the National Beauty Culture League, and the National Council of Negro Women.
She was converted at an early age and joined Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized. She served as a Junior Usher, and was also a Girl Scout.
She was united in holy matrimony to Joe Allen Conyers on December 31, 1977. This union was blessed with a child, Patrice Nicole Conyers. They enjoyed 38 years of marital bliss.
Surviving are: her loyal and devoted husband, Joe Allen Conyers of the home; a daughter, Patrice Nicole Conyers, US Army (Hawaii); her mother, Pearl B. Clark of Sumter, S.C.; a sister, Persephone Clark Anderson (Nathaniel); one brother Attorney John D. Clark (Sharon) of Sumter; a host of other relatives and friends.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church.
The family is receiving friends at the home, 1165 Morrisway Drive, Sumter and the residence of her mother, Mrs. Pearl Clark, 126 Perkins Avenue, Sumter.
Funeral services for Ms. Jacquelyn B. Mitchell of Darlington were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 at St. James United Methodist Church in Darlington. Interment followed in Darlington Memorial Cemetery, directed by Jordan Funeral Home, Inc. of Darlington.
Ms. Jacquelyn “Jackie” Alberta Bacote Mitchell, daughter of the late Levern and Ramona Bacote, was born on March 11, 1949 in Darlington, S.C. She died on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
At an early age “Jackie” joined St. James United Methodist Church, and later took over the presidency of the Usher board.
She obtained her education in the public schools of Darlington County. A Mayo High School Class of 1967 graduate, she continued her education at Florence Vocational Center where she later became a LPN nurse. She worked in several hospitals during her career as a nurse.
Survivors include: a son, Martino Deon Mitchell; a sister, Brenda Bacote Benton; a brother-in-law, Rickey Benton; a niece, LaQuanette Antwaneeke Bacote; special friends, Theresa A. Williams, Hermina Dubose, Robert l. Roberts, Jr., and Alphonso McDowell; cousins; and many other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 926 South Main Street, Darlington.
Melvin Carl Davis, age 77, died January 1, 2016 at his residence. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m Monday, January 25, 2016 at Florence National Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born on January 20, 1938, in Richwood, W.V., he was the son of the late William Melvin Davis and the late Beatrice Madeline Fisher Davis. Carl served his country in the United States Navy Reserves and worked in the plumbing industry.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia Tremper Davis and his daughter, Tammy Stowe both of Darlington.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Davis.

Ronnie Dean Brown, age 57, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016. A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 22 at Florence National Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born March 22, 1958 in Florence County, he was the son of the late Henry and Lynn Brown. Ronnie served his country in the United States Navy, and worked in the industrial maintenance business in Kansas. He later worked in the print shop at Dixie Cup until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Suzanne Gainey Brown; two sons: Gregory Ponton-Brown, and Nicholas Brown; a daughter, Caitlin Brown; his soon to be daughter in law, Tiffanie Wennersten; four grandchildren: Makenzie Boan, Zachary Boan, Bentley Henderson, and Emma Ponton; and his five siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will received friends Thursday evening at the funeral home.
