Roy Franklin Clark, Jr.

Roy Franklin Clark, Jr, age 56 passed away Monday, April 4, 2016. A graveside service was held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7th at Lamar Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.

Born October 13, 1959 in Monroe, N.C., Roy was the son of Carole Robinson and Roy Clark, Sr. He worked as a quality control manager for Struthers-Dunn, and was a member of Timmonsville First Baptist Church. Roy was a Mason, a Shriner, and enjoyed music and building things.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Shelia Moody Clark of Timmonsville; his son, Austin Lance Clark and his fiancée Heather of Pageland; his daughter, Shelly Page Clark of Jefferson; and his sister, Susan (Craig) Andrews of Hartsville.

The family received friends from 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. Thursday, April 7th at Belk Funeral Home Lamar Chapel.

Buddy McArthur

Duncan Legrand “Buddy” McArthur, age 82, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 9, 2016. A graveside service was held Tuesday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. in Florence National Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family received friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home, 902 San Fran Circle.

Buddy was born in Mullins, S.C. son of the late William Lester McArthur and Minnie Bell Rogers McArthur. Mr. McArthur served in the United States Army for 16 years, and then went on to drive trucks for a living. Buddy started with Standard Trucking, then drove for Builders Transport, and most recently worked Bill Garland Trucking. Buddy was known to always joke around, whether it was when he saw you at Taki’s Diner, or when he was home with his kids and grandkids, who meant the world to him. Mr. McArthur was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Ruth Sellers McArthur; a son, Kenneth (Cynthia) Shepherd of Rockingham; grandchildren: Christopher, Savannah, Ashley and Alex Shepherd; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Billy Dean (Caddie) McArthur of Blenheim; a sister, Rose Ellen Lawson of Jacksonville, Florida; and ten nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester McArthur, and a sister, Virginia Burdick.
