Suspect had bigger role in slaying, DCSO says

The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office has again arrested a Hartsville woman in the May 26 slaying of a Hartsville man who was shot in the Pine Ridge area.

Reneka Shane Brown, 26, originally was charged with accessory after the fact in the slaying of Desmond Coe.

He was shot outside a Markette convenience store at West Bobo Newsome Highway and West Old Camden Road.

Investigators now believe Brown played a much larger role in the case. She was arrested again Sunday and was denied bond.

Jail records say she is charged with murder.

Originally, Brown was released from the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center June 4 on an $80,000 bond.

Investigators previously arrested and charged Zieyre Carroway, Davion Cockfield and Marqueze Robinson in the case.

All three remain in custody.
