The Palmetto Rural Fire Dept. was alerted at 4pm on Dec. 18th to a potentially hazardous situation at Canfor Lumber Mill, involving two workers in a manlift who had made contact with a power line. Fire Units arriving at the scene confirmed the details of the incident. Duke Power was promptly notified to ground the power. Additional responding units Car 1, E151, E153, and Darlington City Tower 1. The employees were treated by Darlington County EMS and released at the scene.
