The Hartsville Kiwanis Club recently celebrated its commitment to community service by recognizing students in the Terrific Kids Program. Each month, teachers at the Mildred G. Burno Head Start Center and the Jacquelyn James Slayton Head Start Academy select students who display exemplary character traits. These young achievers receive a Certificate of Achievement and a McDonald’s gift certificate for a Happy Meal, courtesy of the Kiwanis Club. The program, which aims to foster character development, self-esteem, and perseverance, is a testament to the club’s dedication to nurturing future leaders.
