South Carolina Historical Marker for Round O Community and Former Senator Kay Patterson to be Dedicated

The South Carolina African American Heritage Commission and Round O Baptist Church will dedicate a South Carolina Historical Marker on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 10:00 am. Funded in part by Darlington County Accommodation Tax funds, the marker will honor the birthplace of Senator Kay Patterson and the Round O Community. Following the morning service, the marker will be unveiled and dedicated followed by a banquet. Members of the Darlington, Florence, Marion and Sumter Counties delegation are invited to participate.

The event will be held at Round O Missionary Baptist Church located at 1900 Society Hill Road Darlington, S.C.

The South Carolina African American Heritage Commission was created by the South Carolina General Assembly for the identification and preservation of Africa American history and cultural in South Carolina.
