Shots fired at deputies
Shots were fired at Darlington County sheriff’s deputies June 3 while they were investigating an alarm at a Dodge dealership on East Bobo Newsome Highway, officials said.
Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Robert Kilgo said deputies, along with officers from the Hartsville Police Department, were conducting a check on the property about midnight when “several subjects” fired at them. No officers were hurt, he said.
One person, Robert Eugene Hendricks, 42, of Patrick, was arrested.
He’s charged with burglary in the Dodge dealership incident and with cutting a fence at another dealership on South Main Street in Darlington.
