Shaw named Economic Development Director

Darlington County proudly announces the appointment of Stephanie Shaw as the new Economic Development Director. A lifelong resident of Hartsville, Shaw brings a deep understanding of the region and a strong commitment to its continued growth and prosperity.
Shaw is a graduate of Clemson University, where she earned a degree in Management, and she holds a certificate in Basic Economic Development from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She began her professional career in the software industry, later spending ten years with Sonoco. Six years ago, she joined the Darlington County Administrator’s Office and has spent the last five years as a key member of the County’s Development Team.
“Stephanie’s experience, dedication, and community ties make her a natural fit to lead our economic development efforts,” said Charles Stewart, County Administrator. “We are confident she will play a vital role in attracting new investment and supporting the continued success of our existing industries.”
Shaw expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, saying, “As someone who has always called Darlington County home, I’m honored to serve this community and excited to help shape its economic future.”
Stephanie Shaw is a lifelong resident of Hartsville, South Carolina, and a proud graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Management. She also holds a certificate in Basic Economic Development from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Stephanie began her professional journey in the software industry before spending a decade with Sonoco. Six years ago, she joined the Darlington County Administrator’s Office and has been an integral part of the County’s Development Team for the past five years.
With strong community roots and a passion for local progress, Stephanie is honored to serve her home region as the Darlington County Economic Development Director.
