The South Carolina Aquarium Rovers are visiting the Darlington County Library System through a grant from Duke Energy.

The Rovers are bringing wildlife to the library for a free special program called “Sea Constellations” at all four library locations.

Children will learn about marine and freshwater animals while also enjoying interactive activities with the Rovers and their animal friends.

This STEM children’s educational outreach program is part of the library’s special summer reading and learning programming this summer.

The Rovers presented “Sea Constellation” at the Darlington and Lamar branches Tuesday, June 25.

The event will be held at the Hartsville Branch Wednesday, June 26, 10 a.m.; at the Society Hill Branch, Wednesday, June 26, 2 p.m.

Mindy Taylor, Duke’s district manager for government and community relations, presented the grant check to the library June 18 to Darlington Branch Manager Michelle Wallace, Director Jimmie Epling and children eager to see the Rovers’ show.

Darlington Children’s Librarian Katie Jo Daniska worked with Taylor to secure the grant.
“Sea Constellations” is a free, family friendly event.
