One dead after Lamar shooting
A fatal shooting in the early hours of Wednesday morning has claimed the life of a 28-year-old Lamar man, according to Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee.
Shaquille Wright of Lamar was pronounced dead at the scene by Hardee following the incident, which occurred at approximately 2:05 A.M. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, on West Lynches River Road in the Lamar area of Darlington County.
Other individuals were injured in the shooting, according to Darlington County Sheriff August, though their identities and conditions have not been released at this time.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, Darlington County Coroner’s Office, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) are actively investigating the incident.
