Man held in assault case

Darlington police say a man who allegedly held a woman against her will and hit her with a board has turned himself in.

The Darlington Police Department had sought the public’s help in locating 40-year-old Edward A. Agbo III, according to a press release from Capt. Kimberly Nelson. He was wanted for kidnapping and assault.

On Jan. 9, a woman was allegedly held against her will.

While she was attempting to leave, Agbo is accused of hitting her with a board.

“The victim was scared to leave the location because the subject allegedly threatened to hit her with a hammer,” the release said.

“The victim was able to break free from the subject and ran from the location. The victim was able to flag down law enforcement.”
