Man arrested on multiple charges

William Kahler Johnson

On April 27, 2025, Darlington County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Deputies responded to a business on North Fifth Street in the Hartsville area of Darlington County in reference to a Burglary. The individual cut a lock off the victim’s enclosed trailer and stole approximately $2,000 worth of merchandise.
As a result of this investigation, on April 30, 2025, William Kahler Johnson was arrested and charged with Malicious Injury to Property, Grand Larceny, and Burglary.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Solicitor Mike Burch, presented William Johnson’s extensive criminal history with their belief that he is a danger to the community. As a result, the magistrate subsequently denied his bond.
The Sheriff’s office stated that this arrest wouldn’t be possible without a collaborative effort from the victims, community members, deputies, and investigators. They added that, with your help, we can successfully combat crime.
The Sheriff’s Office is in close collaboration with the Solicitors’ Office to work tirelessly to bring violators of the law to justice.
