Man arrested on multiple charges

On February 17, 2025, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) received a tip from SLED and Marion County Sheriff Brian Wallace in reference to possible stolen property that had been stolen from their jurisdiction. Deputies were advised of information that stolen items had been located on Centerville Road in the Hartsville area of Darlington County.
Upon arrival at the location deputies located stolen items on the property that belonged to victims from Marion County and Chesterfield County. Among the stolen items were several golf carts. One person who had received the stolen property and identified himself as the resident of the location, was arrested by Darlington County Deputies.
Joseph Brailey was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Goods over Ten Thousand Dollars. Brailey was later charged with Possession of Firearm by Convicted Violent Felon, Manufacture/Possession of Other Substances, and Probation Violation. Joseph Brailey is currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center and attended his bond hearing this morning. Brailey’s bond was set at $5,000 cash for the Manufacture/Possession of Other Substances charge, $5,000 cash for the Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon charge, $20,000 cash for the Receiving Stolen Goods charge, and bond was denied for the probation violation.
