Jumping to New Heights opens

Friday, June 17th, the Greater Darlington Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Jumping to New Heights program at 116 South Main Street in Darlington. Jacqueline DuBose is the founder of the program and serves as a bus driver for the Darlington County School District. The program is geared to help children between the elementary and the 7th grade, fine tune their interest and skills on their own time through a variation of physical activities like music, dance, fitness and more. It also provides opportunity for the children to receive extra academic aid such as afterschool tutoring and even classes like business and financial classes, something the school system does not teach. This program will also be a way to not only uncover the kids’ gifts and talents but help them to become better at the specific skill to later benefit them personally and the community around them. “After going through this program, these kids will never be the same,” Jacquelion Dubose.
