Hartsville man’s death ruled a homicide

A 27-year-old Hartsville man was found dead in or near a car near Timmonsville last week, and authorities are treating it as a homicide.
The victim was identified as Arron Ja Mahl Jackson by Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee.
Darlington County sheriff’s deputies shut down a section of South Center Road at Middle Branch Road in the Timmonsville area Thursday while they investigated.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit and SLED were collecting and processing evidence in the case.
