Hartsville man accused of 3 counts of attempted murder
A Hartsville man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder after a July 4 incident in which an adult and two children were assaulted, Darlington County Sheriff Tony Chavis said in a news release.
Jermaine Leonardo Dubose, 30, of Hartsville, was being held in the county jail awaiting a hearing before a magistrate, Chavis said.
He said the incident took place at a residence on Sidney Lane in the Hartsville area.
“Investigators allege Dubose attempted to kill a mother and her two children with a knife and further assaulted the 2-year-old by throwing the child against the floor numerous times, requiring hospitalization,” Chavis said.
The child’s condition was not immediately known.
