Caleb Shuler has been selected by the Hartsville Community Chorus board of directors as the director of the Hartsville Children’s Chorale.

“I am very excited for this opportunity to work with the Hartsville Children’s Choir,” states Shuler, “I would like to thank the directors for choosing me for the position, and the parents of the students for allowing me to work with them. I look forward to a collaborative working environment in which the students can learn from me and I from them. It’s time to get to work and make some beautiful music!”

Shuler is from Hartsville and has been involved in music throughout his life beginning as a child at church and continuing with band (playing the French Horn) at McBee High School. He is currently a Music Education major at Coker College and a member of three ensembles: the Coker Singers, the Chamber Singers, and the Concert Band. In addition to studying at Coker College, he attended Winthrop University where he was a member of the Collegiate Choir, Wind Symphony, and Irish Ensemble. In addition to directing the Children’s Chorale, he is also a Music Minister at Clyde Church of God.

“We are delighted to welcome Caleb to our organization,” notes HCC Artistic Director, Dr. James Beaumier. “He will help to continue the wonderful tradition we have of making music with children here in Hartsville!”

The Hartsville Children’s Chorale is an adjunct organization of the Community Chorus featuring students in grades 3-8. It often performs with the Community Chorus as well as performing independently.
