Fowler named DCHS Director

New DCHS Exec. Director Autumn Fowler.
Darlington County Humane Society (DCHS) is pleased to announce Autumn Fowler as Executive Director.
Autumn brings more than a decade of executive leadership experience building strong organizations, leading cross-functional teams, and strengthening operations across government and nonprofit sectors.
Most recently, she served as Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office for the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, where she led enterprise-wide initiatives focused on accountability, service delivery, and long-term sustainability. Prior to that experience, she spent time with PetsInc and EdVenture Children’s Museum (including the Hartsville location). She holds a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership. She is known for her ability to be strategic, build teams, processes, and does it with a huge heart, kindness, and very personable communication style.
As she steps into this role, Autumn shared, “Animal welfare isn’t just my profession, it’s my life. The animals who share my home remind me every day why this work matters. Every pet deserves safety, dignity, and the chance to be deeply loved. I’m honored to lead Darlington County Humane Society and excited to work alongside our staff, volunteers, and community to create an even stronger future for the animals who depend on us.”
