Driver killed in crash
A Darlington County car crash on Sunday left the driver dead, but a baby in the car survived, officials said.
The driver, who had not been publicly identified, veered off North Center Road about noon Sunday. The vehicle hit a tree and burst into flames, officials said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
A 5-month-old baby reportedly was in the car, but the child only suffered minor injuries, according to local media reports.
