Douglas Barry Odom
Douglas Barry Odom, age 79, passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2021. The family received friends at Belk Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021. Born in Darlington on June 11, 1942, he was the son of the late Alston and Eva Knotts Odom. Barry worked for many years at Fiber Industries (Wellman). Mr. Odom liked to watch sports, but his true passion was spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Beth and Matt McCall of Florence and Kaye and Ben Creasman of Greenville, grandchildren: Ryan, Anne Marie and Wes McCall, and Jackson, Hayes and Abe Creasman. Also surviving are his brothers, Hubert, Bobby, Lee, Danny and Dusty Odom. He was preceded in death by siblings, Margie Dennis, Weldon Odom and Myrna Asaro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
