Deputies arrest burglary suspect
Darlington County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Penn Circle in the Hartsville area at 6:20 a.m. after a resident heard someone inside their home and called 911. When patrol deputies arrived at the residence they discovered a broken window and could hear an individual moving inside of the residence. Patrol deputies took a male into custody as he attempted to exit the residence through the front door wearing a mask.
Alonzo Alexander Prescott, 44, of Hartsville, has been arrested and is expected to be charged with burglary, first degree. Prescott remains in custody at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center and will appear before a Darlington County Magistrate tomorrow. The victim was not injured during the incident. Patrol deputies were assisted by the Hartsville Police Department.
