Last Tuesday, November 8th, elections were held all over the country. In Darlington county, voters had only one local seat with 2 candidates to choose from.
School Board sees changes after election
In the Darlington County School Board election last week, 2 seats were up for grabs – District 5 and District 7. Dr. Thelma Dawson, representing District 3 was also up for reelection but she was running unopposed.

Local students awarded scholarships
The Central Carolina Technical College Foundation awarded more than 70 scholarships to students totaling more than $80,000 for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Spaulding Middle receives $23,000 donation for musical instruments
Band students at Spaulding Middle School (SMS) will soon get to hone their crafts on brand new musical instruments thanks to a $23,000 donation from The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.
